TITLE: Brief Moments with Coastal Wolves

These photographs were captured during fleeting glimpses and chance encounters with these charismatic creatures. Smaller than their mainland counterparts, coastal wolves utilise the inter-tidal zone to forage at low tide. They're shy, elusive animals, but these brief moments give you an opportunity to see their intelligence, resilience and charisma. Rarely visible for more than a few minutes at a time, they slink in and out of the forest giving little clue of them ever having been there. It's during these few minutes, over the course of a couple of years, that I compiled these images of wild coastal wolves on the shorelines around Vancouver Island, BC.

I hope they portray the wolves' personality and charm. They're much more than fairy tale villains.
