TITLE: PSALM 23
For sometime I had struggled to understand the bible for myself. for many years my prayer was that I wanted to know Gods word deeper and more intimately. I struggled to understand HIM for myself. One day I remember reading about Gethsemane and I visually saw Jesus. I saw in my mind the droplets of sweat that protruded blood. I saw how this could be interpreted visually. It helped me see the bible and the stories contained in it. I was able to read and re read and see visually see what JESUS was wanting me to see.
I have worked in fashion for six years and been amazed by photographers such as
Richard Avedon, Sølve Sundsbø, David Bailey and many others. The energy and movement, the passion and creativity. The idea that you can take a person and make them into your interpretation. to fabrics to designs, the cut, the style on the human form. Magazines such as Love AND I:D Magazine who’s unapologetic ability to create beauty through the use of different medias, lighting, lenses, angles have captured my attention and communicated a different way of looking at fashion.
I wondered what if you fused the two? What if you took the word of God and communicated it in a modern day understanding, with energy and movement. Passion and beauty that had never been seen before. Oh the endless possibilities. The thought too that someone would be able to see the visuals of the word of God, that they too would be able to be strengthened in the word of God. By seeing His creations and testimonies of greatness in an image to marry up with His word.
